Data Deletion

Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Digipost ("we," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and providing you with clear, transparent control over your personal data. This policy outlines the definitive procedure for permanently deleting your user account and all associated information from our systems. This process is provided in accordance with your right to data erasure.

Procedure for Account and Data Deletion

This is the sole and comprehensive method provided to permanently delete your account and all associated data (such as user-generated content, profile information, and activity logs) that the application links to you.

To initiate this irreversible process, please follow these steps precisely:

  1. Log In: Access your account by logging into the Digipost application.

  2. Navigate to Profile: Click on your profile icon, which is located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

  3. Access Settings: From the menu that appears, select the "Edit Profile" option.

  4. Locate Deletion: Navigate to the very bottom of the "Edit Profile" page.

  5. Initiate Request: Click the "Delete Account" button, which is highlighted in red for clarity.

  6. Final Confirmation: A final confirmation prompt will appear to prevent accidental deletion. You must explicitly confirm this prompt to proceed. This is a critical step and cannot be undone once confirmed.

What Happens After This Action?

When you initiate and confirm a deletion request via this method, a two-stage process begins:

  • Phase 1: Immediate Deactivation Your account is immediately deactivated. This means your profile and associated content are no longer visible to other users, and you will be logged out of the application. Your account will be inaccessible.

  • Phase 2: Permanent Erasure (Queuing) Your account is then placed into our permanent deletion queue. Our system will begin the process of irreversibly erasing or anonymizing all data linked to your account. This process typically completes within a reasonable timeframe (not exceeding 30 days). The data targeted for erasure includes, but is not limited to:

    • All Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

    • Your profile details and credentials.

    • All user-generated content you have created or uploaded.

    • Application activity logs and usage history.

Data Retention and Legal Exceptions

Notwithstanding the above, Digipost may be required to retain certain limited data even after your deletion request, solely to comply with binding legal obligations or for specific, legitimate business interests.

These exceptions are strictly limited and include:

  • Legal & Regulatory Compliance: We may retain data (such as financial transaction records) for the period required by law for tax, audit, or accounting purposes. We may also retain data if required to respond to a legal summons, court order, or other binding request from a government or law enforcement authority.

  • Legitimate Interests: We may retain data necessary for the specific, limited purposes of fraud prevention, maintaining system security and integrity (e.g., security logs), or for establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims and resolving disputes.

Any data retained under these exceptions will be isolated from active processing, will not be used for any other purpose, and will be securely and permanently destroyed as soon as the legal basis for its retention expires.
